Reflecting on my thesis proposal defense

I've just finished my thesis proposal defense, and it went pretty well (I guess). The committee was kinda impressed with my deck, but personally I think it was too long. 80 slides for one presentation is kinda insane.

Like I said, it went pretty well, and that's all thanks to me and my advisor. He dedicated so much of his time to preparing me, and on my end, I practiced speaking like crazy, 2 hours a day for a whole week. But it was all worth it.

My master's journey is still far from over, but at least I've built a strong foundation. What I gained from this defense is that people will acknowledge your hard work through your craft, and nobody can take that away from you. Kinda cheesy line, but that's how it is. You reap what you sow, you know.

It's been more than a year since my last rant, because life had its own plans and kept me busy. But now everything is settling down, so I think I'll write more rants, at least once a week. Let's see.
